Back to the real world......
Last week I got several "complaints" about my blog being too short. Honestly, nothing is going on here. My friend Danielle had it right when she said, "we are taking a vacation from vacationing."

Not to worry though, starting this weekend our "weekend trips" are starting again. We actually have all of our big vacations planned for the year as well. So, if you're planning to visit in 2007 let us know...vacation days are almost gone!

Just to prove that there is really nothing to write about right now, here are the highlights of my week last week:

  • You see the picture of the ironing above...I ironed 10 shirts last week and this is what I need to do this week. Still trying to catch up from the U.S. trip. For those who are wondering how my ironing skills are progressing...I still hate ironing but the shirts come out nice. No complaints from Scott. I can iron about 5 shirts in one episode of Days of our Lives.
  • My new dryer arrived on Friday! We took the cheap route when we came here and bought our washer and dryer from the local goodwill. The washer is great but the dryer left grease marks on all of the clothes so I pretty much let everything air dry. Scott couldn't take it anymore and bought me a dryer from the local appliance store. It's great. See...really..It's so dull here right now I get excited over my new dryer!
  • I have a MYSPACE page now. I'm pretty much addicted to the internet since I use it for all of our travel planning and to communicate a lot back to the U.S. I finally gave in and Shannon designed my page for me.
  • Scott worked approx. 75 hours last week (not including his 40 minute commute each way) so I caught up on watching television. I still love the slingbox. It is the best invention ever!
  • We re-arranged our bedroom..we even switched the floors. We used to be on the 4th floor now we are on the 3rd. No real reason why we changed but our guests now have the entire 4th floor to themselves. Just call it the Eichenberger B&B.
  • Is snowed last week. I had enough of the snow from our Denver visit so I went back to bed after Scott showed it to me and stayed cuddly warm. Thankfully, it melted the same day so I didn't have to walk to the grocery store in it.
  • I had driving lesson #435. Yes, I'm still learning to drive the stick. Scott says I'm ready and I know what to do. He forced me to drive on the busy streets outside of Brugge on Saturday and I did fine. Now, I just need to learn to parallel park. I had bronchitis during parallel park day at my driving school when I was 16. The teacher didn't want me to contaminate the car so he passed me in parallel parking and I didn't even do it. All parking spots in Brugge are parallel so I'm screwed if I don't learn. My goal is to drive to the airport in May to pick up my parents. Vroom..vroom...

This weekend we are going back to Heidelberg, Germany to see my cousin. Our plan is to go to the Neuschwanstein Castle, but the snow is pretty bad in southern Germany so the roads may be closed. Plan B is to visit the Black Forest and Plan C is to hang out in town and go to their malls and don't forget.....the commissary!

Oh, we went to the Celtic Ireland twice last week. Once for dinner and we asked if anyone from the movie had been there that day and they said they were all there that afternoon. We also went Saturday night with some friends but no sitings! Filming starts in Feb!

If your neighbor asks you to house sit and water the plants and you kill one plant, does that mean the friendship is over?

I never claimed to have a green thumb when she asked me to house sit and water the plants. I really didn't think I would kill any of the plants. However, the one grass like plant seemed to die on my watch. In my defense, I don't think it was anything I did or didn't do but rather lack of sunlight. But, she probably won't think of it that way. She'll probably think I'm irresponsible. Sigh. If you asked someone to water plants and they killed something you'd managed to keep alive...wouldn't you re-evaluate the friendship? I'm only bothered b/c we have very few "friends" here and would like to keep the ones we have. I hope the plant didn't hold any significant memory to her. Also, should I email her ahead of time and let her know? What's the etiquette here?

Big news in Brugge!

No, I'm not pregnant but they are filming a movie here. The movie is called "In Bruges" and it stars Colin Farrell ('Miami Vice'), Ralph Fiennes ('The Constant Gardener'), Brendan Gleeson ('Gangs of New York'), Clémence Poésy ('Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire') and Jérémie Renier ('L'Enfant')

They had try-outs on Saturday for extras and of course we missed it. Our city is tiny so I'm sure I'll be able to watch them film and try again to be an extra. Plus, I'm sure they will be hanging out at the Irish Pub since a few are Irish. They start filming in February. I'll keep you posted on any sitings!
Viva Las Vegas! New Year's Eve Dinner at Valentino's in the Venetian
Dinner somewhere in MGM
The Hottest Vegas Showgirls in Town
Josh and Shannon on New Year's Eve
Dancing with the Stars

Before you say it, YES, we are crazy for going all the way back across the U.S. to celebrate New Year's. But, despite our craziness we had a fantastic time. In our short time there we managed to fit in the Dancing with the Stars tour (a front row table I might add), The Blue Man Group, and Phantom of the Opera, 3 dinners, and massive shopping. I even won $40 with video poker.
Thanks again Shan for the invite. We had a great time. Can't wait for next year's New Year's Eve!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas....and what it would be like to hang out at the ATL airport for 2 days!

We left Belgium for Colorado on the 21st of December and officially arrived on the 23rd around 1 am. You would think that we would have hated spending 2 days sitting in an airport but we were upbeat the entire time. When there are 120 stand-by passengers to Denver you to tend to make polite conversation with them to see if they are doing anything differently than you are to get there. Most of the 120 stand-by passengers were angry, tired and not pleasant to be around. They kept asking Scott and I how we could still be smiling. Well it's simple, we were just glad to be in the United States where at least we could understand what was being told to us instead of fighting the foreign language barrier. Plus, we did have ipods, dvd players, laptops, cell phone - your normal airplane necessities (or luxuries.) Actually, we only really used the dvd player once while waiting. We were more intrigued about the process of getting out of the airport. In the end, our nosiness helped us obtain a confirmed seat.

We had a great time with the family in Keystone. We went tubing and snow mobiling and took a sleigh ride Christmas Eve. We left Colorado on 27th and headed back to Atlanta. Atlanta didn't let us down - we arrived right at rush hour and it took us 2 hours to go 45 minutes. Needless to say we arrived in Albany late and had our time cut short there as well. We visited my side of the family for the next few days and left a tad early for our last minute New Year's Eve trip.
