Cinco De Mayo

We decided to have our own Cinco de Mayo feast on Saturday night. Quesadillas, Chips and Salsa and Margaritas. If I had to guess....we were the only people in Brugge who celebrated May 5th.
We often ask ourselves, Where is home? My "home" was my first home on Thornton Dr. in Albany, GA where I lived for 20 years. Scott's "home" was his childhood home on Merrill in Roseville, MN. Since our parents no longer live in those homes we had to choose a new place to call home. Our first house together on Oxwell Dr. in Duluth, GA became "home"worthy right when we were selling it. We've been pretty much "home"less for a year and decided that the old saying is true: Home is where the heart is!
With that being said, we spent all weekend and a few hundred euro later to make our house to more like a home. We (ok, I was more the assistant) installed 18 light fixtures, 5 framed pictures, and 1 mirror. We have three more pictures to hang (I'm picking them up from the framing shop this week) and 3 more light fixtures to hang (once we go to Ikea on Saturday).
Below is a picture of Scott on the ladder to give you a since of how high are ceilings are.

One of our 18 fixtures was a ceiling fan in our bedroom. I'll write it again and this time try and feel our excitement - A CEILING FAN! Ceiling fans are rare in Belgium and we found a cheap one!
Scott and I would personally like to thank our Dad's for a few things we've taken for granted over the years. INSTALLING CEILING FANS, DRILLING ANYTHING, and ELECTRICAL WORK!
We successfully installed the ceiling fan after 3 LONG hours and a lot of team work later. I remember my Dad putting these things up by himself. My Dad has installed a lot of fans, washing machines, hung a lot of pictures, curtains, etc for me over the years and Scott's Dad has installed fans, garage door openers, etc. I'm sure we said "thank you" at the time but now we're really saying it - THANK YOU! It really made us appreciate the things you did when we had to do it ourselves. Thanks Dad! We hope we made you proud.
